So, here I am, it’s almost 2 in the morning and i’m paying bills and generally checking out my finances. What do I find? Three of the sites I need to visit tonight are down for “Scheduled Maintenance”. T-Mobile couldn’t show me my bill details, WaMu won’t even let me login and Discover’s web site is just plain not responding. What happened to the concept of rolling upgrades? Why can’t these companies allow me continuous uninterrupted access to their sites while they perform their maintenance? I recently blasted Endicia (Stamps.com competitor on mac) on this issue. I had been a stamps.com customer for many years with little to no outages or problems. A little after a week of using Endicia’s service, I get an email that I will be unable to print any postage during a small 2-3 hour window on the weekend. So what if i’m sleeping during that time (I wasn’t) or if I have no postage printing needs at that time (I might have). It’s the principle!! Listen people, keep your damn systems up. Especially if you’re a credit card, bank, or pay service. If my free hotmail is unavailable for a day, I have little ground to complain. When I’m paying $14.95 (+postage) for your service, keep it up and running for me.
UPDATE
