Centro Case (Cheap!)

Filed under: Gadgets, Reviews, Mobile, Sprint — Ryan @ 9:45 pm

I was lucky enough to find a case for my centro this past weekend. Unfortunately it’s not available online, but at Target stores. There is a product locator that should tell you if it’s in stock.

And for my friends at TreoCentral, here are some close up pics. Way more pics than an $8 case deserves :)

Sprint Update

Filed under: Mobile, Sprint — Ryan @ 2:46 pm

Sprint

It was a bumpy road, but I’m now running on Sprint with the SERO plan. I’ll be 100% when I finish moving my applications over to the Centro and I have my number ported. Originally Sprint assigned me a phone number that was “already in use”. This led to some very confusing and frustrating phone calls. They went something like this:

Me: Hi, I have some questions about my account.
Sprint: Phone number please.
Me: (Recites number assigned)
Sprint: Name on the account?
Me: (Recites name)
Sprint: I’m sorry sir, that is not the name on the account.
Me: Sorry, this is the number you gave me.
Sprint: I am unable to help you unless you can prove to me that you are the account owner.
Me: I believe we are at an impasse.

Only a trip to the store to dispose of the bad ESN and ditching the number would resolve the situation. Seems going to the store can be helpful and saves time (which I had done that first). Sprint farms out their phone support to India, and no offense but they don’t know shit, and it’s very hard to deal with them.

NHL Alerts!!

Filed under: Mobile, Sprint — Ryan @ 10:58 am

It took me a while, but I found custom NHL Alerts from Sprint. This would be even better than what I had, Goal by Goal coverage! Two things worry me, first the site says Nextel Only (maybe its just an old site) and then the site says included, but when you click through they want $5 a month. Either way, I’m happy, as long as it works.
